I cannot imagine a more fulfilling profession than dentistry. My goal is for patients to leave the office with a new perspective on dentistry: if I can have a positive impact on each patient’s life, then I feel I have succeeded as their dentist.
Many people have dental anxiety or fears, and I work hard to help those people get through previous negative experiences. By really listening to a person’s concerns, thoroughly explaining each procedure, and ensuring there is no pain or discomfort, I’m able to show the person that a visit here is nothing to worry about.
I’ve practiced dentistry for almost 40 years and still enjoy coming to the office each morning. I enjoy working with my hands, combining science and art, and helping people become healthier and happier.
At Hinnant Family Dentistry, we care and it shows in everything we do. Our doctors and team members make patient comfort our priority and strive to help each person feel safe, relaxed, and at home in our office. We want people to look forward to visiting us and make dental care a stress-free experience.

The dental field has undergone remarkable changes in the years since I started practicing. Advances in techniques, along with new technology and materials, mean better care and more incredible results for our patients.
Continuing education is a core part of my commitment to the profession and our patients. By studying new diagnostic and care options, evaluating research, and continually learning, I provide each patient with the best treatment and results for their situation.

Beyond the Practice
My childhood was spent in Texas, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Since 1966, my family and I have lived here in Goldsboro. Liz, my wife of more than 45 years, and I have three sons: John, David, and Bobby. Outside of work, you’ll most often find me on the golf course, fishing, or with loved ones.
I am passionate about my belief in Jesus Christ and strive, daily, to serve my God, my family, and my patients.
